These are the most stunning Christmas party dresses for 2023 that I found after scrolling for hours online. I’m loving that sparkly glam styles are in and when better to throw on a sequin mini than for holiday parties. A lot of these are favorited on my own wishlist ready for holiday dress shopping or already in my closet.
This year it was a lot harder to find dresses under $100 as even at Windsor a lot of their styles were over that but I tried my best to find as many affordable styles as possible. Especially as occasion dresses are often something we only wear once or a handful of times.
It was actually Express who came through with the best holiday party dresses for under $100. As much as they’re great for closet staples, they also really came through this year for holiday outfits. Especially with work appropriate Christmas party dresses. Quality, style and value = win/win!

This satin halterneck red dress with its high neckline is the perfect option to show a little bit of skin and be both a sexy Christmas party dress and classy Christmas dress. It’d be perfect for a work Christmas party or Christmas co*cktails and is under $200. It also comes in 6 other colors.
2. The perfect classy Christmas party dress for family parties
I love how versatile this long sleeve red dress is. It’s a Christmas party outfit that’s classy enough for family gatherings and work events but still festive enough with high heels to feel special. It’s the perfect dress for wearing to church, then to brunch and Sunday co*cktails. As well as not having to worry about a tight fitting dress. It keeps selling out but getting restocked.
I couldn’t find anything else like it so it’s worth waiting on if you can. It’s a beautiful and classy option with enough room to eat and drink.

It doesn’t get much more festive than this classy Christmas dress by Michael Costello black and gold sequin dress which also comes in green and pink for holiday parties or New Years Eve. I love long sleeve dresses for not worrying about what my arms are going to look like in photos.
I’ve also been wearing a lot more gold accessories the last few years as well so this goes perfectly. I also think gold looks absolutely stunning with a festive red lip or smoky eyes and nude lips.
I find this dress runs true to size and the XS fits like a glove. It’s heavy because of the allover sequin and bead embellishment making it feel really good quality.
15. Come on Barbie Lets Go Party #Barbiecore
Yes, it’s another sparkly co*cktail dress but this ones bright pink and made to party! Sequins are a major trend for Winter 2023 as is the pink Barbiecore trend. This dress is vibrant, sexy, on trend and a total showstopper made for dancing. It’s on my wishlist for this holiday season, where else better to wear it than here in Vegas! The roaring 20’s is back when it comes to fashion. I love the fringing on this black and crystal embellished strapless mini dress. It’s from Camila Coelho’s collection which is always fashion forward and sells out fast. It’s such a classy Christmas dress and easy to change the look of by swapping out the belt.
17. Dreaming of a white Christmas | Snow Queen white formal gown
If you’re like me, I don’t follow the rules and think white looks really crisp and elegant in Winter. I love the strapless style of this white gown for holiday parties or New Year’s Eve. This beautifully draped gown has a modern, sexy high-cut front slit that’s both chic and sexy.

As much as I love satin I tend to avoid it as it’s not the most flattering in photos. Except this emerald green satin maxi dress has a beautifully draped belted waistline which totally solves that issue. It also has the sexiest back.

Michael Costello’s red mini dress is a classy Christmas dress that’s also on my Fall wedding guest dress edit as its such a stunning dress for special occasions. Designers are getting smart when it comes to designing co*cktail dresses for colder seasons as this one has long sleeves and a high neck.

The red Alessi gown is such a sexy and fashion forward way to wear a satin gown. It’s such a gorgeous rich shade of red and a total knockout. The gold chain shoulder straps, thigh high leg slit and backless style on this dress is so beautiful.

If you’re looking for a classy but sexy Christmas dress you can wear again and again for lots of different occasions this long sleeve black velvet mini dress would be perfect. When your holiday party has a black-tie dress code or you’re going to the Nutcracker this red gown is sexier than your average gown with it’s cut outs and off the shoulder neckline. One of my favorite holiday parties is cookie swaps as I’m a total sugar addict. This wrap style sparkly green dress (it also comes in a vivid blue) would be perfect for a holiday party where there’s lots of eating as it can be loosened as needed. It’s a thinner sweater dress material that’s sleeveless so you don’t overheat in front of the fire.

This black formal gown is pure elegance. I love off the shoulder gowns as they’re normally most of our favorite body parts. The cut out neckline makes it less stuffy and more fashion forward than your average black gown. This strapless pink velvet mini dress checks off 2 major trends for Fall/Winter 2023: hot pink and the matching long opera gloves which it comes with. If you want to be the most fashion forward person at your holiday party this year, this is the best holiday party dress for you.
I find both the dress and shoes run true to size. Wearing an XS in the dress and size 7 in the shoes (my normal sizes). It does run short, snug and it’s too short to wear with a lot of Spanx due to the high leg slits but it’s so striking. This is such rich wine color velvet mini dress. The criss-cross spaghetti straps make it adjustable, always appreciated for Christmas party outfits! The material is thick enough to not worry about anything showing, especially in the cold. If you’re looking for a dress that you could just as easily wear for holiday parties as for New Years Eve this is a great option to rent.

Red gowns are so festive and perfect for Christmas time. What I love about this satin dress is that the draping and thigh high leg slit make it a sexy but on trend holiday party dress for 2023. It could also be worn to a black tie wedding and is definitely a style for accenting your curves.
34. Midnight gold gown
The most sparkly of these holiday gowns but still a sophisticated, classy long Christmas dress. If you want a holiday dress that gives a little lift this one has underwired cups. The sheer skirt is right on trend, a total head turner and drop dead gorgeous. It’s the fairytale gown.
35. Sugar and spice | Backless mermaid gown
The sexiest of these gowns. This red, backless, body hugging gown couldn’t be a more sexy holiday party dress. If your back is your best feature, flaunt it in this sexy dress. You’re not going to blend in in this dress but you will be the best dressed.
36. On trend holiday party dress 2023 | White feather dress
This is such a fun on trend style for your Christmas party outfit. I found that it ran true to size and wasn’t see-through. Instead of a strapless bra which I find uncomfortable I used nipple petals just for modestly when it’s cold out.

This stunning, backless, silver feather sequin dress was made for partying and making a statement. It’s the perfect dress for dancing and photos.
What to wear if you don’t want to wear a dress
If you’re not into dresses or want something warmer for your Christmas party outfit, there are lots of stunning rompers and dressy jumpsuits around this year. The waist on this one is pretty high so I wouldn’t belt it next time but I love how comfortable it is and that it has pockets.
It’s cropped if you’re tall but doesn’t need hemming if you’re petite (I’m 5″2 and it was the perfect length). I forgot to pack my suede pumps for Colorado so had to wear it with boots which isn’t how I’d style it normally!
If you’re worried you’ll be too warm a festive, lightweight romper is perfect. Plus it has an elasticated waist for all of the festive eating and drinking.
Complete your holiday party outfit in 2023 style
Grab some strappy heels, sparkly Cinderella heels, the perfect accessories and red lipstick to complete your holiday party outfit for Christmas 2023. I’m all about the sparkly accessories to go with my holiday co*cktail dresses but have also added nude and black options so it’s not overkill and you don’t look like a disco ball.
