AEW DYNAMITE RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR FEB. 21

I get up around seven, get out of bed around nine, and I don’t worry about nothing, no, because worrying’s a waste of my time. The show usually starts around eight, and I commence liveblogging it post-haste, folks.

The show opens with commentary welcoming us to the arena.

Blackpool Combat Club (Claudio Castagnoli & Jon Moxley) vs. FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood)

Moxley and Wheeler to start, Cash with a leg pick, shoving him back, Jon comes up on him, knees in the clinch, elbows, tag to Castagnoli. Kicks in the corner, Harwood tags in, bald on bald violence, Claudio maintains control and Mox comes in with heavy hands in the corner. Dax turns it around, chops, in the corner, straight suplex, short leg drop, again just a two count!

Whip across, front kick from Cash, suplex up and over, Jon looking for a choke but Wheeler slings him to the floor! Trading forearms in the middle of the ring, whip across, back elbow, Claudio with a boot in the corner, diving lariats from Cash! Brawling on the floor, all four men, referee Paul Turner having to keep the rules relaxed, Cash throws Mox face-first into the steel steps!

Back inside, FTR working Moxley over, catapult puts him throat-first into the bottom rope! Claudio tags in, uppercuts in the corner, FTR block an Air Raid Crash, reverse, Claudio with a back suplex on both guys! Piledriver on the floor, Blackpool in control and we go to break!

Back from commercial, Castagnoli with a sleeper to keep Harwood from a tag, Dax posts him, Wheeler gets the tag! Cash clearing house, uppercuts in the corner, Moxley whips him across, Wheeler sunset flip for two! Brainbuster, Jon kicks out! Mox and Cash trading shots, Dax legal, Doomsday Device... NOT ENOUGH! Blackpool electric chair, Dax slips out, fighting in the corner, Power-Plex but the knees are up!

Giant swing from Claudio, Moxley with the dropkick, cover... STILL NO! Stereo chokes, running out of time, Wheeler breaks both of them up by driving Claudio into Jon! One minute left, Harwood and Castagnoli dueling Sharpshooters! Slapping each other, rising to their feet, backslide attempt, roll through, stump piledriver but Mox is legal, cover... NOPE!

Back to the bulldog choke, off the ropes, up for Shatter Machine...

The match goes to a time-limit draw.

Post-matdhc, the locker room empties to break it up!

Orange Cassidy is interviewed backstage by Renee Paquette.

He says the doctor will let us know if he’s cleared, and the doctor lets us know that he’s cleared, and if he’s cleared, he’s going to wrestle.

And us, we’re going to break.

Back from commercial we get a recap of Orange Cassidy’s busy week.

FTR are interviewed backstage by Alex Marvez.

They’re fired up to answer this BCC situation once and for all at Revolution, and from the way Mox and Claudio roll up to answer them, they’re down for the match.

Mike Bennett vs. Orange Cassidy

Bennett in control early, suplexing Orange around the ring, dropping him with a right hand, Roderick Strong makes a scene, Mike with a blatant low blow while the referee is distracted, piledriver... CASSIDY KICKS OUT AND WE GO TO BREAK!

Back from commercial, Cassidy hurting on the floor, Bennett draws him up for a right hand! Mike gets on a commentary headset and talks about how Roddy’s going to win the title only to turn into a dive from Orange! Back inside, off the ropes, dive out the perpendicular side! Fighting over a piledriver, Mike gets him up... GOTCH PILEDRIVER CONNECTS BUT CASSIDY KICKS OUT!

Duck a lariat, rolling elbow, rolling elbow, Cassidy goes down, Bennett gets him in place, reversed into the Beach Break... IT’S OVER!

Orange Cassidy wins by pinfall with Beach Break.

Post-match, Matt Taven attacks Orange and puts boots to him! Roderick Strong arrives and Taven lifts Cassidy up... JAKE HAGER MAKES THE SAVE! Hager cleans house with some boots!

Renee Paquette interviews “Cool Hand” Angelo Parker but Ruby Soho rolls up and she decides to let the lovebirds be and they go off arm-in-arm.

“Nature Boy” Ric Flair rolls up in a limousine and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Renee Paquette interviews Ric Flair backstage.

He’s gonna be honest, he doesn’t care if anyone likes him or not, and he figured when he signed up he’d be a bigger part of the picture, and he’s not upset with Sting, but he feels like he should be right in the middle of everything these last few weeks and he’s going to explore some opptions.

He walks to a door and knocks, and the Young Bucks answer and welcome Flair in.

Tony Schiavone is in the ring to interview “Red Death” Daniel Garcia.

Schiavone announces that Garcia is going to get his title match against Christian Cage at Revolution.

Garcia says a couple months ago he lost his confidence, but he knew that three seconds was all he needed, and at the end of the Continental Classic, he got those three seconds and his life was changed. He credits the fans for helping him get his confidence back. He tells Adam Copeland if their match had gone any longer he’d have made him tap, and it’s not over between them, but next time he’ll have the TNT Championship.

Enter Christian Cage and the Patriarchy.

He says Copeland won’t ever get another shot at his title and he’s not going to give Daniel Garcia a title match because he’s not ready yet. And further he knows something most people don’t about his childhood, and that’s that he had a pretty dark childhood. He asks about Jackie and David Garcia and offers a home address and then points out that David Garcia is dead.

Wouldn’t it be a fairytale ending to win the title in memory of your late great father? But no, his father was a piece of crap loser alcoholic who lost his life to the bottle, and unlike him, Christian wants to see him reach his full potential. At Revolution he doesn’t want to be his opponent, he wants to be his father.

Garcia says if he talks about his beautiful mother again he’ll kick his ass, and if he wants to talk about dead relatives so much, come on down and he’ll put you right in the ground next to dear ol’ dad. Nick Wayne attacks and Garcia puts him in the Dragon Slayer with ease!

Killswitch runs in but “Daddy Magic” Matt Menard makes the save with a steel chair!

Renee Paquette is backstage with “Hangman” Adam Page, Rob Van Dam, and HOOK. Page is fired up to get his guys in line, RVD wants to talk about the thing of Nana’s that he was supposed to be interested in, but Hangman gets him off of it and they’re pumped!

Sydni Winnel vs. Toni Storm

It’s a squash as Timeless Toni puts this young woman through her paces, running hip attack sets it up, Storm Zero, ankle lock before deciding on Deonna Purrazzo’s own hold...

Toni Storm wins by submission with Venus de Milo.

Deonna Purrazzo makes her entrance as Toni Storm makes her exit and the Virtuosa gives Toni a dismissive wave.

Deonna Purrazzo vs. Madison Rayne

Arm wringer from Rayne, headlock takeover from Purrazzo, a little back and forth, to the floor, Deonna with a baseball slide and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Rayne with a ripcord Ace Crusher attempt, she fumbles it, malfunction at the junction and both women are down. Front kicks, running knee, side Russian legsweep, roll-through, Deonna spikes her with a DDT, referee Paul Turner wants to stop it but Purazzo presses the attack, ankle lock...

Deonna Purrazzo wins by submission with an ankle lock.

Post-match, Toni Storm runs in, Deonna ducks her and lays her out but Storm puts Break a Leg on!

We get a recap of Darby Allin and Sting winning the tag titles.

Darby and Sting cut a promo where Allin shows the Bucks some old photos of Sting and his sons and points out they’re about the same age as the Bucks’ kids are now. Family is the only thing that matters in the end, and Sting concurs. Sting says it strikes a nerve because no one has ever messed with his family before.

Lots has been going on in his personal life these last few weeks and just a week ago his father passed away. He was a hero to Sting, he taught him right and it makes him think a lot about his own mortality. He used to think he was invincible and sometimes he still does, but time catches up with all of us.

He knows that truly he is not invincible, but one thing that he does know, is that everything he has left in him he will bring to Revolution and meet the Bucks face-to-face, and so we go to break.

Back from commercial, Tony Schiavone interviews Wardlow.

Wardlow kicks him out and says he’s been pissed off for a long time, and two years ago he had thousands and thousands of people chanting his name city to city in a way nobody had seen in decades. He was the next big thing, but apparently the rocket on his back was put on upside down, because he was driven into the ground and screwed over and over again.

You’d think the one true AEW homegrown original megastar would have been champion a long time ago, but somehow he’s never even gotten a world title match and people should be put in jail over it.

Look at the men who have held it, kings and gods and what does that make him? The best in the world, the “real” heavyweight champion, he beat his ass worse than anyone did and his body is still falling apart. Your favorite, he squashed like an insect, and that brings him to the most dangerous man in the room, Samoa Joe.

It sure sounds like he’s the best in the world, that he’s better than you and you know it, that he’s the most dangerous man in the room, he is the uncrowned king of AEW and it’s time he started eating like one, because he’s been starving and he’s done being fed scraps. Look ath im, he’s everything a world champion is supposed to be! No one can stop him, and if anyone wants to get in his way, know this isn’t wrestling, this is war!

We get Rampage footage where the Bang Bang Scissor Gang talk out some of their issues and Switchblade wants Colten and Billy to team with him as Collision Cowboys on Saturday.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, Renee Paquette interviews the Don Callis family where Callis says Will Ospreay is still all in on the Family and he’s got the meat madness because Powerhouse Hobbs is so strong.

“Hangman” Adam Page, HOOK, & Rob Van Dam vs. Mogul Embassy (Brian Cage & Shane “Swerve” Strickland) & Samoa Joe

HOOK and Joe to start, circling, collar and elbow, quick tags and the heels get the cold-hearted handsome devil isolated. Van Dam tags in, going at it with Strickland, tag to Page, face to face with Swerve and they start jawing and we go to break!

Back from commercial, HOOK is back on the wrong side of town, but eventually he shrugs off Cage long enough for a tag to RVD! In with kicks, reverse roundhouse clobbers Strickland, slingshot leg drop, back inside, up top, springboard crossbody for Brian and a dropkick takes Joe off the apron!

Rolling thunder splash on Swerve, setting Cage up, frog splash, Samoa breaks it up! Swerve putting boots to him, and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Joe choking Rob in the corner, RVD gets some separation and tags to Cage and Page! Hanger cleaning house, HOOK back in, Redrums for everybody, House Call catches him! Backbreaker and a boot, Joe dives on Page! POWERBOMB PUTS STRICKLAND THROUGH THE ANNOUNCE DESK!

Back inside, Samoa with the snap scoop powerslam, no deal! Smashing Hangman into the turnbuckles, RVD takes Cage to the floor with a dive, Muscle Buster set up but Adam slips out and tags Rob back in! Jabs from Joe, HOOK catches him with the Tazplex! RVD up top, Cage shoves him down, discus lariat takes HOOK out!

Joe stalks Rob from behind...

Mogul Embassies & Samoa Joe win by submission with the Coquina Clutch from Joe on Rob Van Dam.

Joe stands tall and we go to break.
