The North Carolina Housing Finance Agency has partnered with SocialServe.com to create NCHousingSearch.org, a new statewide listing service for affordable rental housing. Socialserve.com develops and maintains Web applications that help agencies, property owners and the general public offer and find affordable housing. The company, which serves communities in several states, has provided similar web services in Western North Carolina, Charlotte and Greensboro for the past several years. The N.C. Housing Finance Agency, along with other nonprofit partners, will enable NCHousingSearch.org to expand the service to communities across North Carolina.
The free service allows property managers and owners to list properties, describe amenities, provide photos and list eligibility requirements. Renters can search up-to-date property vacancies and get contact information. A bilingual call center also will assist landlords and renters. The site is currently recruiting landlords to list properties. Landlords should go to www.NCHousingSearch.org or call 1-877-428-8844.
The N.C. Housing Finance Agency cosponsors NCHousingSearch.com along with the Community Investment Corporation of North Carolina, the Community Affordable Housing Equity Corporation, the Carolinas Council for Affordable Housing, the N.C. Interagency Council for Coordinating Homeless Programs, and the N.C. Department of Correction.
