There are as many ways to display pumpkins as there are people on the planet. Most likely, no matter what type of display you choose to go with, your pumpkins will look great. You can take a less is more approach by using one or two big pumpkins. Or you can scatter small to medium pumpkins around your tables. Or you might choose to make a big highlight display mixing small, medium, and large pumpkins.

You could go rustic or modern with your display, depending on your overall vibe.

We kept the shower food super simple with an assortment of sugar cookies with jewel toned crystalized sugar. You could always opt to add frosting. I like to keep it simple just using colored sugar, following my butter cookies recipe.

We also had pumpkin cream cheese dip with gingersnaps, fruit dip, and slices of pumpkin bread. Guests had a choice of warm pumpkin spice latte (kept warm in a slow cooker) or sweet tea (because we live in Arkansas, after all).

How fun is this shower idea for a fall baby shower theme? The guests each make a onesie for the baby during the baby shower. The party can be held outside on a beautiful fall afternoon for those with mild autumn temperatures. Or it can be held inside (at someone’s home or at a local paint studio). The mom is gifted all the onesies at the end of the shower. This event lends itself well to either gender.

We had our friend’s onesie shower at a local art studio. We paid a fee to the studio, and the studio supplied all the necessary materials. However, this idea can easily be created at a home or a workplace – like a school cafeteria or a large office space. You just need to make sure to supply enough paint supplies, onesies, and places to spread out for all guests.

It’s best to stay light with the decor. As the onesies are completed, you can hang them on a string with clothes pins. This will become the real decor highlight of the party.

Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star Baby Shower

This twinkle, twinkle little star themed baby shower is great any time of year. But with the night sky setting early in the fall months, this shower seems extra appropriate for fall and winter months.

After brainstorming fall baby shower themes with a group of coworkers, we hosted this shower for a friend at school a few years ago. It came together easily and is a perfect gender-neutral baby shower theme.

We kept with a black, white, and gold color scheme – although you could certainly use any color scheme you wished. We used various pieces of star-patterned fabric from the store as table runners and tablecloths. Several signs from Hobby Lobby were used in different vignettes.

Balloon weights with stars became easy centerpieces for the small tables in our school library. Bunting made of black-and-white striped fabric adorned the front of the gift table.

Around the food tables and elsewhere, star LED string lights, and wooden star garlands added pizzazz.

For star shaped food, you can use star cookie cutters of different sizes to cut star shapes into fruit, cheese, sandwiches, etc. I suggest leaving many of the foods in their normal form and then just cutting maybe 1/3 of the amount with the cookie cutters – just to make a fun star-themed impression. You can lose a lot of the volume of fruit, cheese, and sandwiches by using the cookie cutters. So I prefer to do just enough to make an impact.

You can also use star shaped sprinkles to adorn a plainly decorated cake or cupcakes and top with star-cupcake toppers.

• S’more Love to Go around – this fall baby shower theme focuses on everyone’s favorite fall treat. Decor can include typical pumpkins and leaves. Invitation and sign quotes can say S’more Love to Go Around” or “S’more love for the (last name) family!”
